Whistler Blackcomb's newest rush adventure is the zip line pulley system scenic tour. A wicked way to see the forests and the valleys of the mountain area. The zip line experience involves strapping you into a climbing harness and traveling along steel cables.

Zip Line companies vary in scenery. One zipline company network of cables travels through forests and over rivers in the valley between Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains. Another company zips from tree to tree through the wilderness forest in the more rugged area of Cougar Mountain.

At many of the adventure companies there are zip lines hanging from the tree tops, all interconnected , ranging from 80 to 1100 feet above the ground. The zip line experience is not for the faint at heart but for those who enjoy scenic views and the hype of speed.

The zip line tours are all guided. Each tour is broken down in sections. From each section of the tour the elevation gain increases and the zip line increases in height and length. In between each zip line section are a complex network of boardwalks and trails, aerial stairways and bridges connecting the whole experience together. The zip line adventure operates 365 days of the year and in all weather conditions.

The total zip line tour lasts approximately 2 - 3 hours in many cases. Each tour group is put through an orientation and safety lessons. There are sections of the zip line tour with exits so if gets to be too much then you can climb down and exit the tour.
