Pavillion Community Park -
In the centre of the
Squamish Village is a well maintained community park where on any
given day people gather on the green lawns for some outdoor sunshine
and fresh mountain air. Being that the park is on Cleveland Ave
(the main street) in the village it is close to all the main amenities
therefore it is a popular local gathering place.
Some people arrive at the park after shopping
the boutiques and retail shops on Cleveland Avenue. Others arrive
in the park to enjoy a meal at any of the picnic tables on site.
Then there are those who stroll through the park viewing some of
the stone sculptures and monuments on display.
Throughout the park are sitting benches.. some are
in the shade, while some are in the sun. It is not uncommon to see
people sitting in the park reading a book or having their lunch
The Pavillion Community Park is one of the
main outdoor venues in the region where events can be held on a
regular basis. Because of the large grassy open areas, the central
location and the large covered band shelter the park location is
ideal for concerts, festivals and special events. So when visiting
Squamish, BC keep your eyes and ears open for an upcoming event.
Park Access - Approaching the Squamish
Village from the south following Highway 99 take a right turn into
the village via Cleveland Ave. Continue down the street until you
see Victoria Street. Just past Victoria St. on your left is the
park.
