Marine Boating - Ocean access to Sea to Sky Country is via Howe Sound near the community of Squamish, BC, Canada. Here the ocean meets the mainland. Here is where the mountains rise and where the cliffs are polished by the wind.

Marine traffic in and out of Howe Sound is a popular route for recreation boating vessels, fishing boats, barges, sailing boats, tug boats and kayakers. Squamish Harbour is the ocean access leading into Sea to Sky Country and the communities of Whistler and Pemberton, BC, Canada.

From Howe Sound boaters can explore many other eco destination communities and park destinations. At the mouth of Howe Sound on the eastern shore is the community of Gibsons BC on the Sunshine Coast. On the western side are the small communities of Lions Bay and Horseshoe Bay. In the middle of Howe Sound is the popular boating destination Bowen Island.

Once entering Howe Sound boaters will enjoy the mountain views, the small islands and the growing mountain ranges as they continue down the waterway following the Sea to Sky Highway which is often in view high up on the ridge above. Along the shoreline there are sandy beaches, beautiful beach front homes, boat launches and some parks like Porteau Cove.

Before entering Squamish Harbour boaters will cruise by the coastal communities of Britannia Beach and Furry Creek. Once anchored in Squamish boaters can explore by foot the Village of Squamish. By rented vehicle boaters can continue exploring along the Sea to Sky highway to the mountain communities of Whistler and Pemberton.

All boaters should book moorage long before their arrival as it is limited. Boaters should be well aware of boating etiquette and obey all rules and speed limits when in Howe Sound as there is allot of marine traffic and activity.
