Mountain
Villages (add

Whistler Village is the main hub
of activity located at the base of, you guessed it, Whistler
Mountain. The main inner walkways of the village are
vehicle free leaving room for people traffic. The walkways are
lined with restaurants, pubs, retail and sporting shops, accommodations,
artisan boutiques and much more... all this because the traffic
and the all-day parking is kept on the outside looking in. The
Skiers Plaza and the Village Gondolas are connected to walkways
leading to the Village Square, Village Common, Town Plaza, Market
Square and down into Main Street... every step of the way is pedestrian
friendly with loads of activity. The pathway is called the Village
Stroll which takes you from one end of Whistler Village to the
other. The Municipal Hall, Library, Police, Hospital and Post
Office are also located in Whistler Village. Easy access to everything.
How cool is that!
Upper Village is located at the
base of Blackcomb Mountain. There are accommodations,
restaurants and other basic amenities located in the Upper Village.
A small pedestrian only area, in and round the Blackcomb Base,
is where the Wizard Express and the Magic Chair take summer and
winter visitors up to the top of the mountain. From the Whistler
Village Day Parking Lot #2 there is a walkway connecting people
to the Upper Village passing through a forested picnic area and
crossing over a bridge.
Creekside Village is located south
of Whistler Village. Creekside is the entry village before finishing
your drive up the mountain to Whistler. Along with the restaurants,
banking machines and gas stations there is a little more residential
housing in Creekside then in the other villages which have more
resorts and large hotels. The village is serviced by a ski lift
that takes adventurers up to the peaks of Whistler Mountain. A
treat for hikers and skiers in especially the winter and summer
seasons.
